About Us

We are two average, working Millenials living in the city of Chicago.  We enjoy dining out occasionally, traveling once or twice a year, and recently grew our family with the addition of our daughter. 

My wife and I connected from early on due to our similar backgrounds and upbringings.  I immigrated to the USA at the age of ten with nothing under our names.  My wife also immigrated with her family at a young age with nothing as well (interestingly we grew up within miles apart).  We both worked hard, obtained college degrees, and started working at corporate America for the past ten years.

 

It took a while to build any asset under our name, but we finally feel like we figured out a piece of it and have been making progress quickly since.  I want to say that it took two CPAs ten years to figure it out and it wasn't all about making the most we can, but smart money habits and choices. Like many people, we did not receive any assistance from our parents or any inheritance from a wealthy family member.  We are starting this journey all on our own so reaching our financial independence goal someday will be that much more satisfying and rewarding moment for us. 
 

I started this personal finance blog to document our financial journey and share our experiences with anyone who wants to grow their wealth. This is not an overnight strategy but a long-term plan to build and accumulate wealth.  I am continuing to learn from my mistakes, learning new strategies, and continuing to work hard.  But I am excited about how far we've come and the next ten-year projections to hopefully reach Financial Independence in our 40s.  It will be hard work and we'll face sacrifices along the way, but I believe anyone can achieve this if they plan well for it.
